Third Street Center Board of Directors recently appointed Jody Ensign as Executive Director and Mark Wolfe Webber as Facility Manager.

The appointments are the most recent step in the Third Street Center's evolution into a multi-tenant nonprofit center housing over over 20 non-profit organizations and a few complimentary businesses and artists.

Jody was one of 45 applicants for the Executive Director position.

Jody moved to the Roaring Fork Valley in 1975 and has worked continuously with many of the local non-profit organizations: Director of Arts West Aspen, Director of Friends of the Wheeler Opera House, Administrative Director of Aspen Filmfest and the first director of the Aspen Youth Center (construction and endowment fund raising, design and construction supervision, retaining permanent staff, etc.).

She opened the Basalt Gallery in 1993 but continued active non-profit participation: boards of directors for Aspen Art Museum, Aspen Valley Hospital are Neighbor to Neighbor, ACES, Valley View Hospital, Carbondale Rotary Club, Carbondale Council for Arts and Humanities, and Carbondale Public Arts Commission.  Jody and her husband Don have lived in Carbondale since 2001.

Mark Wolfe Webber has been the owner / operator of a successful general contracting company, Wolfe Brand Construction Inc, focusing on energy efficient and environmentally friendly design and construction. He attends many classes at Colorado Mountain College and Solar Energy International.

Mark has been a resident of Carbondale for over 21 years, volunteering as a DJ for KDNK and has participated in numerous projects with the Mount Sopris Montessori School and the Carbondale Community School.  Mark's life partner, Annemarie Zanca, is a lifetime valley resident who works as a counselor for troubled youth.  Together they have two beautiful daughters, Megan and Lily.

Artist and Third Street Center tenant, Jill Scher, unveiled her Donor Recognition display just in time for the opening on June 19th.

The display recognizes all the contributions to the Capital Campaign over $2,500. It is mounted in the front entry hall.

Jill is a fabric artist so the display is made from felted wool "stones".  In keeping with the reuse and redesign theme of the Center, the wool is from old sweaters from Carbondale residents. The materials is overdyed in different colors based on the level of giving.

Stop by Third Street and take a look.  It's even more impressive in person.
